Big Sky is a tournament run to raise funds to assist Stacy Neild in her ongoing battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Stacy and Mike Neild were married in 2008. Stacy, a native of Montana USA moved to Brisbane and worked with the Starlight foundation looking after chronically ill children. Mike taught PE at Kelvin Grove SHS and is almost certainly the best Ultimate player Brisbane has ever produced. He is a highly respected player and a much loved personality within the Queensland and Australian Ultimate community.
Less than 6 months after their marriage Stacy was diagnosed with MND. MND is a poorly understood degenerative disease that affects the way in which the nerves communicate with muscles. MND patients suffer a slow degeneration of motor control which affects every aspect of their lives. It is generally fatal within 3-5.
Big Sky 12s is the 4th year of the Big Sky event and is one of the best 1 day Ultimate Frisbee tournaments on the calendar. But it is so much more than just a frisbee tournament: It is a chance for the Australian Ultimate community to demonstrate their love and support for these two wonderful people, and to make a significant and meaningful difference to their lives.

1. Big Sky 12s - Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
Date: Nov. 10th, 2012
Venue: The Gap Soccer Club, Glenaffric St, The Gap, Brisbane, Qld
Cost: $55pp (includes: All games, snacks, gourmet lunch, dinner, on-site Party)

NB: Maximum of 12 teams can participate.
Format: 1 day, 5 x 50min games, Mixed (4M:3F), Round robin + Final.
Teams of 12+ are encouraged for the day.
